Kuan Yin is an enlightened being; she is actually a Bodhisattva; a word that refers to later incarnations of the Buddha. She is also called the Goddess of Compassion, and the legend within the Lotus Scripture states that if you simply call upon Kuan Yin, you can be saved from any type of calamity. She has the power, wisdom, love and compassion to deliver you safely out of the clutches of demons, ghosts, goblins, monsters, thunderbolts, poisonous serpents, wild beasts, evil people, negative situations and negative energy!

Legend also calls Kuan Yin the “Hearer of the Cries of the Suffering of the World!”  She is said to have the power to cure sickness, relieve people of bad habits, and ward of jinxes and negative influences.
